Program Costs and Participant's Responsibilities

• The monetary value of this program is $7,000 per student. Over 50% is paid for by the German government and private sponsors. The remaining costs of $2,900 per student is covered by each participant, payable in 3 installments.

 

• The program covers the following costs:

 

 Internship placement process (administrative paperwork to intern in Germany) 

 Immersion Seminar in Berlin

  Interim Seminar in Cologne

 - Accomodations & meals

  - Accomodations & meals

 - Interactive German class and materials

  - Intercultural training

 - 10-Day visitor's program (meetings & daytrips)

  - Cultural program

 - Transportation during the seminar and  internship locations

  - Transportation during seminar to & from  Cologne

 Insurance:

 - Liability & accident for the duration of the entire program

 

• Students are responsible for arranging and paying for their own flights to Germany. Students are also responsible for covering their everyday living and housing costs and health insurance for the duration of their internships. See application package 2009 as a guideline for details.

 

• Most internship positions are paid by the host companies; the few participants in unpaid positions will receive a one-time stipend of € 500.

 

• Participants are welcome to seek out additional stipends, scholarships or grants offered by universities, corporate sponsors or other organizations.
