Morning:

Introductory seminar by InWEnt: Living and working in Germany

Afternoon:

“Das neue Berlin”: Presentation and guided bus tour of historic and modern Berlin highlighting this year's 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall

Dinner with Presentation: “The Internet Start-Up Scene in Germany” – a testimonial by sportme GmbH Managing Director & Member of the founding team

Evening:

Freetime around the "Museumsinsel” and “Alte Nationalgalerie”

Monday, May 25, 2009 Berlin

Morning:

Interactive German language classes taught by Prof. Helga Kraft (UIC) and Teaching Instructors Änne Rosenburg and Ingo Fehrmann

Afternoon:

Onsite presentation of the innovative Green Roof technology at "Potsdamer Platz" by a scientific associate of the Technical University Berlin with a research focus on decentralised rainwater management and resource protection

Evening:

Reception and presentation by Editor-in-Chief of “Der Tagesspiegel” with insight into the headline production of one of Germany’s leading newspapers in Politics and Business

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 Berlin

Morning:

Interactive German language classes

Afternoon:

Visit to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). Talk with the Head of the Department for Small and Medium-sized Companies 

Presentation at the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) “Elections 2009: Germany Elects Its President, Chancellor, and EU Parliament President”

Evening:

Networking event in Berlin Mitte together with students from the Technical University Berlin

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 Dresden  

Daytrip to Dresden

Morning:

Visit to the "Gläserne Manufaktur", “The Transparent Factory” (VW Manufacturing Facility) where VW’s luxury car “Phaeton” is produced

Afternoon:

Visit to the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Dresden). Presentation by the Head of Department of Business Trends and Statistics about the economic development of Dresden since the German unification and prospects for the future

Walking tour through Dresden’s historic city center

Thursday, May 28, 2009 Berlin

Morning:

Presentation by representatives of Berlin Partner GmbH about business development strategies & their focus on Renewable Energies

Guest speaker: Head of the Department of Energy at the  German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), discussing energy efficiency and climate change in Germany

Afternoon:

Interactive German language classes

Evening:

Open evening - time to explore Berlin on their own

Friday, May 29, 2009 Hamburg

Daytrip to Hamburg

Morning:

Guided tour through headquarters of Airbus, one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers

Travel with the "Barkasse" (ferry) to Hamburg city

Afternoon:

Guided tour of the HafenCity, the modern redevelopment on Hamburg’s waterfront, with the President & Partner of DS-Bauconcept GmbH

Evening:

Dinner at Café Oktober along with presentation by the founder of Oktober Betriebe about the company’s concept promoting integration and vocational training in Germany

Saturday, May 30, 2009 Berlin

Morning/Afternoon:

Workshop with cross-cultural trainer on intercultural topics & preparation for the internships
Sightseeing boat tour along the Spree through the historical and modern Berlin

Evening:

Optional evening viewing of the final game of the German Football-Federation Cup

Sunday, May 31, 2009 Berlin

Morning:

Opportunity to attend a German church service
De-Briefing: review and evaluation of the Immersion Seminar 

Afternoon:

Guided tour of the German Reichstag, seat of the German Parliament

Evening:

Farewell dinner and official closing of Part 1 of the TAP

Morning:

Individual travel of participants to their respective internship locations in Germany

Midterm Seminar in Cologne: Review of initial internship experiences and intercultural training
