Transatlantic Program-Young Technology Leaders: Logistics & Transportation

Germany, May 22-30, 2011

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACCoM) was proud to bring 12 young leaders from the field of "Logistics & Transportation" to Germany, the world's leading logistics hub, for an intensive TAP-YTL: Logistics & Transportation delegation program from May 22-30, 2011. During the trip, the delegation engaged in lively and impressively informed discussions with industry experts and service providers. Trip highlights included a whole day at Frankfurt Airport with top presentations and an exclusive behind-the scenes tour, an introduction to the world’s largest inland port located in Duisburg, a high-level exchange with the Railway Depart of the German Federal Network Agency and a guided cruise through the Port of Hamburg on a historic “Barkasse” ship.Furthermore, extensive networking with their German „young leader“counterparts and cultural endeavors such as a visit to Berlin German Historical Museum rounded off the TAP-YTL: Logistics & Transportation delegation experience.

Meet the 2011 TAP-YTL: Logistics & Transportation Delegation!

Impressions of the 2011 TAP-YTL: Logistics & Transportation in Germany

TAP-YTL: Logistics & Transportation was the second program in the TAP-YTL series and its participants came from eight US States and featured various areas of study, profession and German proficiency. TAP-YTL is designed to bring future decision makers from the US and Germany together at the beginning of their professional careers, or late in their studies, to build networks and promote know-how transfer through intensive, content-driven encounters and experiences. Last year's delegation of TAP-YTL: "Sustainable Architecture & Urban Planning" visited Germany in September of 2010. Please find more information on that past program here. After the trip, participants are integrated into the TAP Alumni Network to stay connected with each other and to the German American business community. The German Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Klaus Scharioth is a patron of the TAP-YTL program series.
