General InformationWe encourage the renewable energies, engineering, business and German studies departments of any U.S. university and college to nominate their students for the Transatlantic Program. The students represent their college throughout the program, including during their professional stay at selected, well-established German companies:
• Up to 25 participants are selected for the TAP per year from applicants nationwide and are carefully matched with internship positions at their field of study
• So far, students from more than 55 different U.S. universities and colleges have participated
• The TAP is directed at U.S. Bachelor students in their junior or senior year, primarily those with academic backgrounds in business administration, engineering and renewable energies.
There are suggestions about Conferring Credit for colleges that have internship courses listed in their course catalogues. For those who would like to see an example of credits allocated to the students download an example from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
The program receives excellent support from the American Association of Teachers of German (ATTG), the Goethe Institute Chicago, and a large growing number of universities and colleges throughout the U.S. who consider this business-related program to be a very practical and helpful addition to their schools’ German programs. |
